Frontier Trail Junior High School

Frontier Trail is one of the nine middle schools in Olathe, Kansas, United States. The school opened in the August 1989. Graduates go to either Olathe East High School with California Trail Middle School and Pioneer Trail Middle School graduates, or to Olathe South High School along with Chisholm Trail Middle School and Indian Trail Middle School graduates. Students also have the choice to go to Olathe North High School, or to Olathe Northwest High School.

The 2010 boys basketball team won a city championship. It has approximately 775 students.

Their mascot is the jaguar and their colors are blue, and red. Their traditional rivals are the California Trail Bulldogs and the Chisholm Trail Wildcats. The 2010 8th grade football team finished with a record of 5-1, their only loss coming to Santa Fe Trail, 13-6. The 7th grade football team finished with a record of 4-2. The coaching staff consists of Jeff Van Dyke, Eldon Bailey, Ed Hemberger, Chad Sanem, Todd McCarthy and Gary Blasi. Frontier Trail Middle School has advisory classes on last hour each day to encourage reading, or so that students may go to "club activities", or just do homework. Several times a year they have "Pep Assemblies" during advisory period. They usually have three 7th grade "teams", J Team, A Team,and G Team, and two eighth grade "teams", Red Team, and Blue Team. The sixth grade teams are the colors Red, Blue, and Silver.

Frontier Trail was awarded the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence award for its 1999-2000 school year.[1]

Frontier Trail's current principal is Dr. Rod Smith ;Carl Garrett and Jennifer Stoskopf are the assistant principals.
